Attention urban visionaries. If you’re developing a cutting-edge solution for improving city life, the New Cities Foundation wants to hear from you. The foundation on Monday announced the details of its annual Global Urban Innovators competition.

Fifteen startups and social enterprises will receive year-long support that could help them transform audacious ideas into viable businesses. Parties would receive personalized mentoring and introductions to mayors and civic organizations. They also would be invited to showcase their concepts at the annual New Cities Summit and participate in a two-day Urban Innovation Camp. Plus, lots of social media promotion.

Applicants must meet certain criteria. Their solutions should aim to improve urban mobility, infrastructure, services, health and wellness or placemaking. Proposals also must harness technology, “be radically innovative,” and be scalable, the foundation says. The competition is limited to ventures less than five years old. Applications are due December 23, with candidates to be interviewed in January. Winners are to be announced February 15.
